Kestrel Relay is billed monthly by event volume. An event counts once when it is published, no matter how many subscribers receive it or how many delivery attempts it needs. > Kestrel Labs is a fictional company. This document is part of the Citevia sample corpus.
The Starter plan is free. It includes 10,000 events per month, up to 3 subscriber endpoints and community support through the forum. When a Starter workspace reaches its monthly quota, publishing is paused until the next billing cycle; there is no overage on the free plan.
The Growth plan costs 49 US dollars per month and includes 500,000 events per month, unlimited endpoints and email support with a response time of one business day. Usage above the included volume is billed as overage at 0.40 US dollars per 10,000 additional events.
The Scale plan costs 399 US dollars per month and includes 10 million events per month, a dedicated account manager, single sign-on and support with a one-hour response time for urgent issues. Overage on the Scale plan is billed at 0.25 US dollars per 10,000 events. Scale customers can request a higher API rate limit.
Paying annually gives a 15% discount on the plan price. The discount does not apply to overage, which is always billed monthly in arrears.
The Scale plan includes an SLA with 99.95% monthly availability for event ingestion and delivery dispatch. If availability falls below the commitment, the customer receives a service credit of 10% of the monthly fee for each full 0.1% below the target, up to a maximum of 50% of the monthly fee. Credits must be requested within 30 days of the end of the affected month. Starter and Growth plans do not include an SLA.
Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated for the rest of the billing cycle. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle. If a downgrade would put a workspace over its new endpoint limit, the extra endpoints are paused, not deleted.
Registered non-profit organisations and open source projects receive the Growth plan at 50% off. Startups in an accredited accelerator programme can apply for 12 months of the Growth plan for free.
Kestrel accepts credit cards on every plan, and bank transfers on annual Scale contracts. Invoices are issued on the first day of each billing cycle and are payable within 14 days. Accounts with invoices overdue by more than 30 days are moved to read-only mode until payment is received.
